Where to Watch the World Cup in Cape Town: News Bar, Long Street

SA Logue introduces you to some of the best places in Cape Town to park for World Cup Matches! Find more spots with our Watch the Cup tag.

News Bar

This is a small-but-intimate joint at the lower end of Long Street, which you can practically have all to yourself. Belly up to the bar for a close-up view of the action, or head to the glassed-in smokers’ section for a decent-sized plasma screen.

The News Bar is for day games only, though - it closes after 5 p.m. It’s got a standard pub menu and decent coffee, I’m told. It’s definitely possible to get comfy here for a few hours.
