R.I.P Lucky Dube: Boks to play tribute.

The news of the murder of one of our national treasures, Lucky Dube has cast a long shadow over tomorrows Rugby festivities.

Much loved Dube was shot in front of his son and daughter, in a carjacking attempt last night. Three suspects are on the run in what is one of the highest profile South African murders in recent history.

Lucky Dube was South Africa’s leading reggae recording artist producing 20 albums in his career and winning over 20 local and international awards.

During his career he performed across the world and shared the stage with music stars such as Sinead O’Connor, Peter Gabriel and Sting among others. He had only recently returned from a month-long tour of the US.

The price of human life in South Africa is at an all time low, perhaps this will be the turning point for the leadership of this country to pay attention to crime.

The Springboks are said to be dedicating tomorrows final to the memory of Lucky.

Am still finding it very hard to stomach the shock and reality of my reggae king being passed away by these foolish insensible, obnoxious so called thugs. There will be no more of his spectacular live performnaces for me to look forward to. South Africa needs to wake up and see what men like Mandella, Lucky Dube and other freedom fighters has done for them. To make it worst, it is black men themselves that killed him. Black people are always bringing themselves down to nothing at the end of the day, that’s why we cannot blame the whites, we have to blame ourselves for this social illiteracy. If am sleeping… dont wake me up, if it’ a lie… dont tell me the truth, cause what the truth will do… it’s gonna hurt my heart, being in the darkness for so long now, Mr president, did i hear you right last night on TV.. you say Group Areas Act is going away, Apartheid is going away. These killers should have been thankful for this lyrics but instead they throw it out, rejected it. South Africa and africa moaned for this racism and crime to be dispelled and look what we have today, the slaying of one of the very humanitarian responsible for such bliss being enjoyed by much africans including the killers of My Reggae king. I am from Grenada and lucky had been here three times and three times i went to his concert and it’s been the best live performance i ever witnessed. On Saturday they having aTribute party for him at the place he performed last time he came to Grenada. I will always love Lucky phillip Dube..NOBODY CAN’T STOP DUBE CAUSE DUBE STRONG.
