Rikkis Taxis for Cape Town’s Best Cheap Ride

Cheap door-to-door transport in Cape Town is available. They used to only operate during daytime hours, but they are now open every hour and every day of the year, call for a Rikki’s taxi, which will take you from any point A in the city center or Atlantic seaboard to any point B in the same area – including Camps Bay – for a fee of just R10-R20.

  • Rikkis Taxis website
    Tel: +27 (0) 21 418 6713
  • Rikkis map
  • Rikkis hours – Always open
  • How do they do it? you ask. Simple: ride-sharing. You don’t take the most direct route to your destination, but stop along the way to pick up and drop off other riders, who may be in different parts of the city. This means your ride can last significantly longer than when travelling by metered taxi – but you meet friendly people along the way, and you pay a fraction of the price.

    Other Rikkis options:
Excursions (up to 4 people): Kirstenbosch, Hout Bay, Canal Walk (R70)
    Cape Town Airport transfer (R125.00)
Hourly vehicle rental (from R120.00, shared by up to 4 people – additional R10.00 per person)

Rikkis is a city institution and gets a coveted SA Blog Best of Cape Town accolade.
