Reds De-throne Chiefs

In the end, Man U’s purchasing power prevailed over the Kaizer Chiefs’ pluck. South Africa’s Amakhosi dominated a somewhat lacklustre match, outfoxing their opponents with dazzling dribbling, and gamely playing by “English Prem” rules in the mosh-pit of a midfield - but for all their control of possession, they couldn’t score. The scoring was left to the Reds’ young revelation of a (borrowed, from Royal Antwerp) forward, Fangzhuo Dong, who chipped one in in the 85th minute, after an appalling Chiefs defensive error. The local side almost clawed one back in injury-time, hitting the post, but it was not to be. Man U have run rampant in SA, with what amounts to a B-minus side, proving that when it comes to luck in goalscoring, you can buy it.
