Tasting notes
France supporters - take two of these and call me in the morning. Ouch! That hurt last night - but, in honor of Italy’s accomplishment, we return to SA Logue’s recommended World Cup venue for Italy supporters, and raise a toast of Leopard’s Leap, which is on the winelist, to the Azzuri.
This Shiraz can, in fact, be found on many winelists acros Cape Town. It’s a big, fruity tipple that’s quite inexpensive (bearing in mind that the restaurant price is usually double the bottle store price), and goes well with anything spicy or rich. Quite a bargain - you can’t miss ordering this.
Tipplers in the UK should note that Leopard’s Leap is imported by Tesco’s - and that the supermaket’s recommended accompaniment, “macaroni cheese” is downright appalling. Someone should write a letter.
