Durban has a huge hospitality industry thanks to its status as the South African working family’s preferred holiday destination and it’s role as the busiest port city in Africa.
If you are looking for affordable hotel or lodge accommodation in the vicinity of the Moses Mabhida Stadium where the Durban matches are to be played then you are in luck. Surf ‘n Dreams is a newcomer to the vibrant local backpacker market and has a little bit of catching up to do. However beginners enthusiasm makes up for any gaps in service, and certainly the recipe for a great backpackers lodge is all there.
Feathers Lodge is a typical city lodge with excellent guesthouse style facilities. It is a clean, functional and service orientated downtown hospitality option with access to most of what makes Durban tick.
Crescent Guest House is one of the best of a usually well appointed sector of the industry. It is upmarket in flavour and yet small enough to be personable. This is a great mid-town option.
