Student Blogger Shelly - who came to South Africa on the Northwestern University/Medill School of Journalism study abroad ticket - has departed Africa’s shores for other parts, and SA Logue would like to thank her for her work, and wish her good luck.
What this means, of course, is that SA Logue now has a vacancy in its Student Blogger department. Applications welcome!
If you’re studying abroad in SA for any length of time, answer to the description of “generally opinionated”, have decent writing skills and want to be mildly famous, you qualify. No previous bloggin’ experience necessary. Requirements are pretty minimal: as few as two posts per week.
Those interested may post a comment to this entry, or send me a note directly. C’mon, chickadees - let’s blog!

Adam, the responsibilities are extremely onerous - just kidding! We expect a minimum of two posts per week from student bloggers - with each post weighing in at a minimum of 200 words, or thereabouts - and that’s it. In return, you get mild fame, a great excuse for not writing more often to your parents - and that’s it. So there’s the extent of the incentives - we encourage our bloggers to think of the fun as its own reward! (Actually, some journalism departments will give credit for the work undertaken, but this has to be negotiated.) Hope you’re still interested and good luck at Rhodes. -Ed

I’m a senior Philosophy and PoliSci major in South Carolina. This Fall I will attend an exchange program at Rhodes University in Grahamstown, South Africa.
Please respond with the responsibilities and benefits associated with the “student blogger” position. I am interested in it for its own sake, but could definitely use supplementation to begin paying back the thousands I’ll have borrowed by
the end of this trip.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Adam
