Two African Teams in World Cup Action Today

First off the bat, it’s alphabetical neighbors Togo and Switzerland vying for a few shreds of honor - neither has won a game yet, but each theoretically still has a chance of making their group’s top two. The late game features Mediterranean neighbors Tunisia and Spain; if Tunisia can come away with a draw against the formidable Spaniards, they have a good chance of reaching the second round.

Meanwhile, the Mini-Group of Death has come into its own, as World Cup uber-blogger Bob has pointed out on today’s front page. The real Group of Death proved all-too deadly for African hope Ivory Coast, who are now out of the tournament (their final match on Wednesday against Serbia & Montenegro is a dead rubber; that said, they should win it).
