I am a didabled single Mother of three. I went on line to look for a good deal on airflights and I logged into cheaptickets. I filled out the questions including my Visa card. I did not purchase anything through cheapticket never the less they took money out of my bank acount on two seperate transacktions $54.00 and $83.00. I called and was hung up on once and the second time I was told that I did not have an account and they could not find me in their system. I was looking at my account as she said this. I was then given a second phone number which no one answered. I have left four messages regarding this problem and I said that I had no problem calling channel sevens Micheal Finey on seven on your side. They air problems like this and Cheap tickets would get some bad press for all of the Bay Area to know. I am also going to contact Better Buisness Burou. Can you help me get my money back? I need this money desperatly to get new tires for my car becouse they are worn so low that the steel belt is showing. Before I get in an accident I need to get new tires. Please help me. My phone number is 408-281-1368. Oh!I did not autherize anyone to take that money out of my account.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I would like to make a report regarding Neverlost Satellite Navigation, based in Gauteng, South Africa.

I recently visited South Africa over the Christmas period and rented a car (from another company) and a satellite navigation instrument from Neverlost to guide my way around, from Jo’burg Airport for one week. I was informed that when I returned the unit, if nobody was there due to the flight being very early in the morning on returning to the airport, then I could put the unit into a box provided, which I did in its fully intact state.

On returning to my home country in Hong Kong, I discovered that my credit card had been charged around R6,900 from the company Neverlost, which would imply that I had lost the unit and not returned it, since the rental amount was just R474 for the week. I contacted Neverlost to find out what had happened, to which they replied they had made a mistake and then subsequently refunded the amount to my credit card.

Around one month later I received contact from Neverlost’s director, Mr. Steven Leigh, claiming that I had in fact been refunded twice and therefore he had discussed with his bank, Nedbank, to reverse the transaction and credit Neverlost’s account. He produced evidence claiming that he had sent 2 refunds through.

Upon closer inspection, it turns out that the original refund that Neverlost made and Stephen Leigh authorised, was in fact to the wrong credit card number. Now Neverlost and Mr. Stephen Leigh are trying to keep the money for themselves despite knowing they are in error, with utter disregard of their clients. I don’t know how I can get the money back.

I would like to therefore advise tourists visiting South Africa and indeed local clients not to use this company, for danger that this same thing may happen to you and you will return from your holiday with a big shock on opening your bank statement.

Yours sincerely,

Laurence James

Very sorry to hear about your experience. I would recommend submitting your views on the page mentioned on this entry: http://www.southafricalogue.com/travel-tips/hello-peterplease-connect-my-phone-i-am-wearing-an-incendiary-device.html

They seem quite successful at getting at least a response.

Kind regards

Philip

Dear Sir /Madam

I am a German citizen who have invested a great deal of money in a Guesthouse here in the Limpopo Province.
My investment is being ruined by the neigbors around my Guesthouse with the barking of their dogs.
The Local Town Council has now after four years of intensive complaining from my side, issued the neigbors with letters to the efect that they can keep as many dogs as they wish !
Is there any Tourism body that you can refer me to for help, as I have even writen to the Deat.gov.za for help but they also see my problem as miniscule.

Thank you kindly

Robert Wenzel
