Ghana have beaten the Czech Republic 2-nil, to give the African continent its first victory in the 2006 World Cup! The brilliant Black Stars – who are, by the way, responsible for South Africa’s absence from the tournament, having topped SA’s qualifying group last year – simply outclassed the previously-magesterial Czech side, and produced a stunning upset in the process.
If Ghana can beat the USA in their match next Thursday, they’ll likely make it through to the second round. Imagine the party that’s on in Accra tonight!
