Further Insight & Opinion
Nonna Lina will be one of the liveliest places in Cape Town on Sunday, 9 July – packed to the rafters with Italy supporters, all who’ve come for the food as much as for the footie action.

This restaurant gets nearly everything about Italian – specifically Sardinian – food right. The pasta dishes (choice of fresh or dried noodles) are light and full of beautifully-balanced flavors, from fresh parsley to spicy chilli; the winelist features a lusty local selection that’s priced within easy reach; and the pizzas are probably the city’s best, if it’s thin-crust you’re after.

To sum up, then: great food – zero pretension – modest prices. Something’s missing… oh yes – massive plasma screen! There’s one mounted on the back wall for all diners to see, with an equally massive Italian flag in attendance.

Call now, Nonna Lina will be booked out soon!
