Table Mountain From the Top


On top of Table Mountain, just outside the cableway station, you’ll find this interesting scuplture:

Yes, it’s the mountain in miniature, complete with groovings that show the road to the lower cableway station and the most direct hiking route to the top, Platteklip Gorge. That’s Lion’s Head in the lower right, about six of the twelve apostles sweeping down to the south (upper right), and the jetties of Table Bay Harbour in the lower left.

But - where’s Cape Town itself? Typical for a winter’s day - it’s in a puddle on the mountain’s lower slopes, otherwise known as the City Bowl!

Fabulous snippets of Capetown and surrounding areas. You’ve created a very complete picture of all there is to see and do and eat and more! Informative and energizing writing! Gosh! I feel like I am right there enjoyiing the music and the food and all the sites right now….from the top of Table Top Mountain to the band playing….. Thanks so much……..
