On top of Table Mountain, just outside the cableway station, you’ll find this interesting scuplture:
Yes, it’s the mountain in miniature, complete with groovings that show the road to the lower cableway station and the most direct hiking route to the top, Platteklip Gorge. That’s Lion’s Head in the lower right, about six of the twelve apostles sweeping down to the south (upper right), and the jetties of Table Bay Harbour in the lower left.
But - where’s Cape Town itself? Typical for a winter’s day - it’s in a puddle on the mountain’s lower slopes, otherwise known as the City Bowl!
