Observatory

Yeah - sounds like a place that you observe things - but it is actually a hip/student area of Capetown - called Observatory.

Eileen is a student at U of Capetown as I mentioned, and many students and artisans live in this area. Loads of Bars and Restaurants on the main drag. Independent Backpack styling travellers would most definately dig this area as the drinks and food are cheap, and the partying doesn’t stop until about 5 a.m. on weekend nights.

OBZ Cafe: Is a trendy cafe/bar in the center of the strip. The other day I saw an article in the paper and they are sponsoring a South Africa Movie contest.

I’ll add more to this if I get some pictures of the area and have more to say…

Observatory is a very appropriate name for a hip/student area.
