New York Bagels is the king of Cape Town delis - the only place around where bagels with even a passing resemblance to those in NYC can be found. And there’s much else to recommend a stop inside:

• a massive range of deli and bakery products, from chopped herring to hummus, kitka rolls to danishes, soft drinks to fine wines;
• a huge sit-down restaurant, where you choose your own table (views upstairs), order food at the many food stations (omelettes, hot beef on rye, felaffels and more), carry it back on a tray, and eat at your own pace;
• a counter piled with ready-made bagel sanwiches, for those who need a quick bite - lox and cream cheese, smoked turkey, brisket, etc. - great “Cheap Eats” food.

Clearly - without a doubt - we have a “Best of Cape Town” candidate here. The place is, quite simply, bagelicious!
