Cheery Snap on Brrrrr-y Day

So far, this week has been deepest, iciest winter in Cape Town, with highs in the low teens and gale-force blasts from Antarctica buffeting all and sundry. The “big freeze” (OK, it’s not actually freezing, though I am) didn’t stop alert SA Logue reader Bruce Heatherington from clambering up on to the roof of his office building today, however, to capture a beautiful rainbow arcing over Lion’s Head on his cell phone:

Thanks for the winter cheer, Bruce!

Hey Ben, I discovered your blog yesterday and am quite interested. My family and I are moving to Cape Town in January from Winnipeg, Canada. Your talk of cold weather made me laugh, since we’ll be leaving in minus temperatures of 20 or lower to summer in Africa. Can’t wait. We’re looking for furnished housing since we’ll be only there for a year while my wife does research for her doctoral studies. That bunny chow curry thing has me very interested. If you have any more tips for me that would be much appreciated.
Steve
