The secret is out - the best place in town to get yer bike back in shape is the women’s section of an old synagogue in Woodstock.

It is, of course, a synagogue no longer - but you’d hardly know to look at the place. A small sign advertises “BMC”, and you can just hear the sounds of tinkering up the steps, but those are the only clues.

Word has it that several of the Cape’s top cycling teams refuse to have their cleaning and maintenance done anywhere else; and you can pick up a bargain or two on the shop floor, too, if you’re in the market for second-hand pedal power.
